Minced Lamb/Goat Meat Delight
MINCED LAMB/Goat MEAT DELIGHT
Ingredients :
½ kg minced Lamb or Goat meat
1 black cardamom
1 stick cinnamon
6 black peppers
1 tspn cumin seeds
2 cups finely sliced onions
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
2 potatoes, peeled and cut in quarters
2 green chillies slit in halves with seeds removed
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp coriander seeds powder
1 tsp.garlic paste
1 tsp.ginger paste
3 tbspns cooking oil
Salt to taste
Green coriander leaves for garnishing
1 tspn lime juice
Method :
Clean and wash the goat or lamb meat mince.
Heat 2 tbspns oil in a pressure cooker. Add cardamom, cinnamon and black peppers. Once they start spluttering add sliced onions. Cook on low heat. Add tomatoes. Cook for few minutes on low heat with cover. Add garlic and ginger paste. Saute for a while.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and mix it well. Add meat mince and salt to taste. Saute and cook for sometime. Add potatoes and mix well. Cook in the pressure cooker for 15 minutes after the first whistle. All the cooking is done in its own juices and the taste is very original.
Heat oil in a pan. Add green chillies and cumin seeds. When they splutter add spluttering mixture to the mince and mix well. Allow it to cook for sometime. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Add 1 tspn lime juice ( optional ). Serve hot with chapattis, gakhar or roomali rotis.

Thanks Hmrjmr1 for visiting. Here in India there is a daily presence of goat meat in the menus at the restaurants and at homes. Go for this recipe as soon as you get the oppurtunity. Must be a hard life for you in Iraq.
This recipe has been passed on to the newer generations from the previous generation and is a time-tested recipe. Also it is easy to make. Hope you will enjoy it.
Kulsum - at the Dining Facilities in Iraq Thursdays was goat night for the Contract workers, If you were friends with the DFAC Supervisor he would let you get some instead of the normal meal served to the troops.
